It is no secret that in Tampa Bay we love our hockey and with the season fast approaching every fan should check out these Tampa Bay Lightning Must Haves. Our Tampa Bay Lightning has brought home multiple championships giving us the nickname of “Champa Bay.” It’s rare for a warm climate city like Tampa, Florida to be considered a hockey town. But there is no denying that it is with the success the Bolts have had.

The Tampa Bay Lightning were founded in 1992 and have won three Stanley Cup Championships: 2004, 2020, and 2021. They also reached the Stanley Cup Finals in 2015 and 2022. Amalie Arena turns into a hockey fan’s paradise every October when the regular season kicks off. With consecutive sellouts, the Lightning may be the most popular team in the Tampa Bay Area.

2023- 2024 Tampa Bay Lightning Season

This year, the Bolts take on the Nashville Predators for their home opener on Tuesday, October 10 at Amalie Arena. The Predators will be a great opening test for us to start the season. Coach Jon Cooper should have the boys ready to go. I am sure the Bolts may be playing with a bit of a chip on their shoulder from last season. They are coming off an early playoff exit last season at the hands of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are led by Captain Steven Stamkos who joined the team in 2008. This year he will be joined once again by standout stars like Brayden Point, Andrei Vasilevskiy, and Brandon Hagel, who just earned an 8-year contract extension. However, losing a crowd favorite and strong enforcer like Patty Maroon will surely be felt.

No matter if you like watching the games at your house, favorite bar, or in Thunder Alley next to Amalie Arena you will want to take a look at these Tampa Bay Lightning Must Haves. We want to make sure that you are “geared” up for this season!
