I do not wear a ton, and I am probably not very good at applying it in a way that highlights my best features, but I feel better when I look better and makeup helps me do that. When I was first introduced to Axiology, I became intrigued at how this vegan, cruelty-free, and clean product could help me feel good about how I look and about how I am leaving the planet.   When I was in high school, right around the time I started wearing makeup, I was in an organization called “Junior Leadership.” We went on field trips to various companies throughout the area to give us a firsthand look at how business is conducted. One of the trips we took was to a landfill where we learned about waste management, the importance of recycling, and what happens to our land when it is filled with waste.   The landfill we visited was relatively young, having only begun in the ‘70s. I still pass that landfill when I visit family in the area, and every time I see it I think, “what can I do to slow down the growth of this sprawling mountain range?” Because that’s what it is. It’s no longer a hill of trash. It is a mountain range of trash.  That experience really made me appreciate companies like Axiology.  Axiology is the brainchild of Ericka Rodriguez who, upon learning that all of her makeup was tested on animals, decided to make her own. However, animal testing is not the only problem with conventional makeup. According to Axiology, the beauty industry creates 120 billion units of packaging waste each year. 120 BILLION UNITS. All of Axiology’s boxes are made from island trash and are fully recyclable.  Listen, I’m all for looking good – but I want my earth to look good, too. Axiology is making that happen.   I grabbed my teenage daughter to help me with this review because she’s the one who watches the unboxing videos and makeup tutorials. Plus, adding her to the mix gives you two perspectives on the same product. Here is what we thought ...    What I Loved About Axiology Beauty The Color Quiz! (https://axiologybeauty.com/pages/quiz) It's nearly impossible to judge a color or how it will look on your skin by looking at it on a website. This quiz takes about 60 seconds to complete and I think they nailed it.  So Smooth! The products go on really smoothly. They look like crayons but the application is soft and silky.  Brilliance! There is a little bit of shimmer in Shape Stick that added a dewy glow I have been unable to attain with powder highlighters.  Packaging! I thought the paper packaging would cheapen the product. I was wrong. It is sturdy and easy to maneuver is made from trash and is 100% recyclable. It’s a win-win-win-win.  Vegan and cruelty-free. Thank you for protecting our animals.     What Didn't Work For Me  The products offered by Axiology can be used alone or in combination with your makeup. I prefer a full-coverage foundation, but found these products can be applied beautifully over top. So …. is that a con?  These products are pricy. If you are a drugstore cosmetics shopper like me, this price point may set you back. Although, I have not had the products long enough to determine how long they will last compared to what I normally buy.     Overall, I appreciate what Axiology is doing to protect the environment, and the animals, and make me beautiful. I love knowing that a woman who wears makeup is helping me to become my best self. Finally, and most importantly, the products are beautiful and pleasing to use. They feel good and they look good, so overall, I would say the bang is equal to the buck. Totally worth it.
